How to Understand Boat Lift Model Numbers
Boat Lift Model Numbers can be helpful in identifying the weight capacity, inside width and style of boat lift a consumer has. Below is a breakdown of each type of boat lift and their corresponding model numbers.
Once you have identified the appropriate model number, you can find additional specifications on both

Vertical Boat Lift Model Numbers
Example Model Number(s): 4009, 5010, 6010 (these will always be four numbers long)
- First two numbers indicate the weight capacity...add "00" to the end to get the appropriate weight capacity
- Examples: 40 = 4000 lbs, 50 = 5000 lbs, 60 = 6000 lbs
- Second two numbers indicate the inside width in feet
- Examples: 09 = 9 feet, 10 = feet
- So our examples are...
- 4009 = 4,000 lbs capacity with an inside width of 9 feet
- 5010 = 5,000 lbs capacity with an inside width of 10 feet
- 6010 = 6,000 lbs capacity with an inside width of 10 feet
Pontoon Boat Lift Model Numbers
Example Model Number(s): 4010 PTN, 5510 PTN, 7010 PTN (these will always be four numbers long with PTN behind it)
- First two numbers indicate the weight capacity...add "00" to the end to get the appropriate weight capacity
- Examples: 40 = 4000 lbs, 55 = 5500 lbs, 70 = 7000 lbs
- Second two numbers indicate the inside width in feet
- Examples: 10 = feet
- PTN stands for Pontoon model which indicates the longer, wider pontoon vertical lifts
- So our examples are...
- 4010 PTN = 4,000 lbs capacity with an inside width of 10 feet Pontoon Vertical Lift
- 5510 PTN = 5,500 lbs capacity with an inside width of 10 feet Pontoon Vertical Lift
- 7010 PTN = 7,000 lbs capacity with an inside width of 10 feet Pontoon Vertical Lift

- First two numbers indicate the weight capacity...
- Examples: 40 = 4000 lbs, 60 = 6000 lbs, 80 = 8000 lbs, 10 = 10,000 lbs

- Examples: 09 = 9 feet, 10 = 10 feet, 11 = 11 feet
- Third two numbers indicate the travel height of the lift in inches
- Examples: 48 = 48 inches, 60 = inches

- 600960 = 6,000 lbs capacity with an inside width of 9 feet and a travel height of 60 inches
