How do I know what my frame is?
Look for identifying markings and compare to our
site. How does the frame look?
How do I
measure?
Please Select Brand to View the Measurement Guide.(For almost all canopies measure length outside to outside
of the metal frame. Width should be measured inside to inside. The EXCEPTION is measuring a Shorestation
frame. These require measurement of the
side tube for the length – then add 2’ to accommodate the extension of the
frame. Width is measured inside to
inside.)
What type of material should I choose?
Complete personal decision. - Vinyl tends to be the more
economical choice. It is durable and will provide excellent protection. It is 13 oz/square yard and run about 40-55 lbs. Very large canopies will be around 60+ lbs.
(We use American made, 13 oz ShelterRite Vinyl.
- Harbor
Time is a fantastic marine-grade material that has a better appearance and is
slightly lighter in weight, at 11 oz,/square yard - not a significant weight difference but some.
with the same water repelling properties. Harbor Time is more UV resistant and is easier to work with (not as stiff).
Both options are mold & mildew resistant and color-fast
- Weather Max (SM brand only) is not a coated fabric so can "breathe" but will leak over time, light weight, looks great
How will my canopy attach? Will it be the same as my old
canopy? Our canopies generally attach similarly to the OEM attachment. For Instructions, please click
here.
I have an older
Shorestation and used metal springs with long metal sleeves. Can I still use
this method? No – our new system is far easier and matches the system
currently used by Shorestation. You will get a long continuous bungee that will
have to be woven through the easylash system and will be given s-hooks to
attach to your frame.
I have a Hewitt
and my current cover has snaps down the center – do you put these in?
No – we do not believe they are necessary and create tear
points in the canopy.
I have a FLOE and wonder if you use the same clips?
No – we use our attachment system.
What color fades the least?
Lighter colors tend to hold color better (or at least the
fading is less noticeable).
White/Grey/Tan are your best options – but our UV resistance is good for
most colors. Fading is natural given the sun exposure. Just as our skin reacts
to the sun – the canopy, over time, will also. However, the canopy can last up
to 10 plus years.Dark colors – specifically burgundy/red are more prone to
fading over the years.
How long will this
last – how do I care for it?Depends – acts of God are beyond our control. We’ve seen canopies last 10 plus years. Care
and proper storage will help your canopies life cycle. Making sure it is put away clean
and DRY in a rodent-free environment.
Cleaning before storage with a mild detergent (Ivory soap) and a soft
bristle brush to remove any debris and drying thoroughly all help. Do not use abrasive chemicals. You can apply a UV protectant after a couple
of years – these can be picked up at a home improvement store – or even
Walmart.
Always remove canopy during winter months. Do not allow
water to puddle on the canopy – water and dirt can cause discoloration.
What if I order the wrong size?
See our return policy – we want to make sure you have the
canopy you need. The best way to get the right size is to make sure you measure
correctly. If you have questions on
measuring beyond what you can see on the website – please call. We’d be happy
to discuss proper measuring techniques.

Can I get a fabric sample?
Sure! Send us your address and the colors/fabric you wish
to see.
I live in a windy area – will this hurt my canopy?Yes – but there are ways to prevent damage. Making sure
the canopy is tight on the frame will decrease the amount it flexes – which
will eventually make that area brittle – and potentially crack. PVC coated (vinyl) will typically resist the
wind whip better than laminate material.
Do you heat seam
your canopies?
Yes! Our long seams are heat sealed with a state of the
art Miller Weldmaster. Canopy ends and
webbing/binding are sewn on with a special outdoor UV thread.
